Welcome to The Hummingbird and the Whale
I wasn’t sure what this was going to be. I still don’t know exactly. And that feels…right.
What I do know is that I want a space to write—honestly, openly, and without pressure. A space for reflection, curiosity, humor, love, and maybe even a little (or a lot;) of magic.
I didn’t get here alone. In fact, this blog was shaped by conversations with ChatGPT (yes, really). I’ve been using it as a thinking partner, a way to untangle ideas, to ask questions I didn’t know I had. I want to be transparent about that, because I think there’s something beautiful about the way technology and human intuition can work together. So yes, these posts are mine…my ideas, but I sure as hell flesh them out with ChatGPT because it helps me streamline my thoughts and questions!
So, what can you expect here?
I’m not sure yet. Some thoughts on life, death, joy, grief, and the weird and wonderful moments in between…including astrology, spirituality, intuition, marriage, motherhood, friendship, learning, social justice, communication, books, breathing, aging, family, food and so much more. Some observations about birds and whales, the earth and nature, AND for sure the way that all things are connected!! Maybe, someday, a community. Maybe just a quiet place to land.
The name The Hummingbird and The Whale just kinda came to me, but I have more to say about this. It wasn’t entirely out of the blue…both creatures mean something to me, and I look forward to digging into this more in posts to come.
I’m also a huge lover of music and podcasts - I find it hard to just be. I tend to put my air pods in and listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks. So here’s currents and favorites:
My favorite podcast EVER - Wiser Than Me with Isabel Allende.
My current audiobooks..yes BOOKS, it’s just how I roll - from Librofm. Meeting The Shadow on the Spiritual Path, The Sum of Us, and Sage Warrior.
My current favorite musician - Noah Kahan
Paperback books I’m reading are - A New Earth & The Silent Patient
Random, but I’m also over hearing - “Mom?”, “MOM”, “MOOOMMMMa”. Oooffa
So, I’m letting this unfold however it does. But I believe that if you’ve found your way here, it’s because you’re meant to. Hi and welcome 💜.
More soon,
Lauren
